Shimla Hill Station
Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, is one of the most pleasant hill stations of India. State Museum
Located in the western part of the town, the State Museum is housed in a colonial mansion and offers good displays on Pahari, Mughal and Rajasthani miniatures. Many other interesting exhibits are also a part of the State Museum. The museum remains closed for the public on Mondays.

Viceregal Lodge
This highly impressive colonial building served as the summer base of the British government. Constructed in Elizabethan style, the mansion features striking entrance hall, a library, conference hall and many other sections.

Jakhu Temple
The Jakhu Temple or Monkey Temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and lies atop a hill. Legend has it that Lord Hanuman, after collecting the herbs from Himalaya (for injured Lakshmana) rested for a while on this hill before returning to the war field. You can climb up to the top of the hill on foot which takes nearly 20 minutes or use a horse to get to the top.

The Mall
This dynamic and busy road of the town is filled with lots of shops and eateries. It is the favourite spot among the tourists to enjoy a leisurely walk during the evening time during their Shimla trip.

How to Reach Shimla
You can easily reach Shimla by road, rail and air network. The Jubbarhatti Airport, located about 22 km from the city center, is served by all major domestic airlines. Flights are available for Delhi. Regular bus service (ordinary as well deluxe) is also available for Shimla from Delhi, Chandigarh and many other cities of Himachal Pradesh. A narrow gauge rail line also connects the city to Kalka. The journey on a toy train through beautiful valleys is a popular option among tourists to get to Shimla.

Best Time to Visit Shimla
The best time to enjoy the Shimla tour is from September to November months when the weather remains cool and pleasant. The summer months of April to June are best to get respite from the scorching heats of the plains. However, this is also the time when the city remains overcrowded as tourists visit the city in large numbers. Rainy months of July and August should be avoided for Shimla trip. If you want to enjoy snowfall, then late December and January are the best months for the visit.
